Small Business of the Year Awards
The Martinsville-Henry County Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the Small Business of the Year Awards, in recognition of entrepreneurial creativity, determination, and commitment to success of those in small business. Awards will be given in one or more of the following categories:
• Service Business of the Year – 25 or fewer employees
• Retail Business of the Year – 25 or fewer employees
• Manufacturing Business of the Year – 100 or fewer employees
• Uptown Business of the Year
* A business must have been in operation locally for at least 2 years to be eligible.
All nominees will be evaluated by the Small Business Development Committee based on the following criteria:
• Staying Power
• Percentage Increase in Number of Employees
• Percentage Increase in Sales and/or Unit Volume
• Innovativeness of Product or Services Offered
• Response to Adversity
• Evidence of Contributions to Aid Community-Oriented Projects
In addition, a Campbell-Lester Small Businessperson of the Year and Young Professional of the Year will be selected from the pool of applicants.
Winners will be notified in advance and announced publicly at the
Business Appreciation Luncheon hosted by the MHC Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at 11:30am at TAD Space, 20 W. Church Street, Martinsville, VA 24112.
Young Professional of the Year
The Martinsville-Henry County Chamber of Commerce is once again, sponsoring the Small Business of the Year Awards, in recognition of entrepreneurial creativity, determination, and commitment to success of those in small business. We will also honor the:
2025 Young Professional of the Year
All nominees will be evaluated by the Small Business Development Committee based on the following criteria:
• 35 Years of Age or Younger
• Must work for a company that is a member of the Chamber of Commerce
• Must be from this area or must have relocated to this area 2 or more years ago
• Exemplifies characteristics of leadership and integrity and shows strong ties to the community through their involvement in local events and/or groups.
Letter of Recommendation MUST accompany all nominations.
