SOVAH Health - Martinsville
An important part of a thriving community is the health of its citizens. The ability to provide patients with quality healthcare options is the goal of any medical facility.
Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County opened in 1970 and is a full-service, acute care, for profit, community based hospital, owned and operated by LifePoint Hospitals, Inc. out of Brentwood, TN. The hospital is constantly expanding and changing to meet the growing needs of Martinsville – Henry County and its surrounding area. At Memorial Hospital, it is our goal to deliver high quality patient care, support the physicians, create an excellent workplace for our approximately 800 employees, be a resource for our community and ensure fiscal responsibility.
Beginning in 1997, Memorial Hospital began an expansive renovation project. By December of 2001, every department would be completely revamped and several new departments, such as the Julius Hermes Breast Care Center and the Ravenel Oncology Center would be added. In May of 2002, another major renovation was undertaken. Since then, the hospital has spent over 30 million in upgrading equipment and adding such things as a new Ambulatory Surgery Center which gives us 22,000 square feet for outpatient services, completely updated all 3 inpatient floors adding patient controlled heating and air conditioning to each room, and purchasing a new 64 slice CT Scanner that is the fastest on the market at this time. There are also additional plans to add another MRI and a second cath lab. The hospital now has over 400,000 square feet.
The hospital boasts 25 major departments in the hospital that operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The medical staff, both active and consulting, consists of more than 100 physicians representing 25 specialties. 96% of our medical staff is board certified in their areas of specialty.
Memorial Hospital provides a comprehensive range of inpatient, acute care and outpatient services including medical, hospice, surgical, pediatric, obstetric, psychiatric, and critical care patients.
